First edition, first printing of the UK edition of The Tales of Beedle the Bard, published on 4 December 2008. The book is signed on an ultra-rare Beedle the Bard bookplate affixed to the half-title page.
As stated in the letter of authenticity that accompanies this book from Adam Houston of The Harry Potter Specialist, the world’s sole expert on J.K. Rowling’s signature, NEARLY ALL signed copies of this title offered online are counterfeit. Authentic signed copies of this title are incredibly rare. Only an estimated 200–250 copies were signed by Rowling on the day of release at a Tea Party at the National Library of Scotland. Additionally, an extremely small number of first editions with this special bookplate and Rowling’s hologram were distributed by Bloomsbury to a select few individuals, making this one of the rarest J.K. Rowling signed bookplates in existence.
A near-fine copy with two tiny blemishes to the edge of the front cover and a slightly indented lower spine end. Otherwise in excellent condition.
For storage and preservationthis copy is housed in a custom-made, exquisitely crafted half-leather clamshell box.
