Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone - Inscribed 15th printing

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. First paperback edition, early 15th printing, inscribed by J.K. Rowling in blue ballpoint pen on the half-title:"To Kay, How I love signing to adults!"

The inscription is followed by Rowling's early signature variant, used until approximately mid-1998, distinguished by the full stops after the initials J. and K. This early form of her signature is scarce, particularly in copies of Philosopher's Stone, and is closely associated with the earliest phase of the Harry Potter series.

The inscription itself is particularly significant, providing a charming glimpse into the earliest days of the Harry Potter phenomenon, when the books were still regarded almost exclusively as children's literature. At the time, it was highly unusual for an adult to attend one of Rowling's signing events, making her humorous dedication a fascinating contemporary reflection of the series before it became a worldwide, cross-generational success.

A virtually excellent copy. The only notable flaw is fading to the lightly creased spine, extending to the extreme top edge and the rear spine fold. Otherwise, the book presents exceptionally well. The binding is square and firm, the pages are clean and bright with scarcely any of the usual toning. No other names, inscriptions, or defects. The inscription has been fully authenticated by Adam Houston of The Harry Potter Specialist and is accompanied by a Letter of Authenticity and collector's card. Housed in a custom-made half-leather clamshell box.
