The scarce second paperback printing of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, published shortly after the first printing in a similarly small print run.
The copyright page shows the number line 10–2 and credits Joanne Rowling, while the rear cover has no space between “Thomas Taylor” and “1997”. The front cover features the Wendy Cooling quote, a feature found only on the first five paperback printings and the first two hardback printings.
A Very Good copy showing a number of signs of use to both the covers and contents, and priced accordingly. The laminate is absent from the covers. The name of the previous owner, a puppeteer known from television programmes, is written on the inside of the front cover. There are a few small wormholes along the outer margins of the pages. As is usual with these early paperbacks, the page edges show some age-related toning, with occasional spotting and marks to the contents. The binding remains firm.
Despite the condition issues noted above, the book still presents well overall, making this an affordable opportunity to acquire the scarce second paperback printing of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.
