First Urdu edition of J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, published by Oxford University Press in Pakistan in 2002. Translated into Urdu by Darakhshanda Asghar Khokhar, with cover artwork by Mary GrandPré.
A near pristine copy of this unusual international edition of the first Harry Potter novel. The book is printed in Urdu in the traditional Perso-Arabic Nastaliq script and was the first authorised Urdu translation of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.
This unread copy has been exceptionally well preserved and remains in near pristine condition, with virtually no signs of handling or wear. There is only the slightest trace of fading along the upper edge of the rear cover, barely noticeable. A remarkably fresh and particularly desirable example of this scarce first Urdu edition for collectors of international Harry Potter editions.
