First hardback edition, third printing of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Issued in early July 1998, immediately following the first two printings, this third printing had a remarkably small print run of just 5,000 copies. It was published before the introduction of the Hogwarts crest on the half-title and title pages, making it one of the earliest and most desirable hardback printings of the second Harry Potter novel.
The book is in near-pristine condition, with no notable flaws. The binding is firm and square, the boards remain bright and fresh, and the pages are exceptionally clean, showing scarcely any of the usual age toning. The unclipped dust jacket is in near-fine condition, retaining vibrant colours with only the faintest hint of fading to the spine and virtually no signs of wear.
