Very scarce true first edition, first printing of ‘Garri Potter i Filosofskii Kamen’, the Russian translation of ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’, published (pre-movie) on Dec. 7th 2000 in a very small print run by Rosman Publishing, Moscow.

“The release was none too soon for 11-year-old Harry’s hard-core Russian fans. Thirsting for a Russian translation of the J.K.Rowling books that have topped Western best seller lists, in 1999 they started a Russian web site dedicated to the boy and his magicpowers, and translated fragments themselves which made  The Rosmen publishing house decide to buy the rights for the Russian translation The book is sold for 45 Russian Ruble, about $1.70.  The price was slightly higher than average for the genre, but well below Western prices and the $11 for the English-language version available in Moscow.”  (ABC News wrote on Dec. 21, 2000)

No Dust Jacket as issued. Only the first edition, first Printing has a printed title on the cover which is not foiled as all later editions. The book is in a near fine condition. Cover is near fine with minor bumped spine ends. Internal clean without signatures or writing. Firm binding, pages browned as usual.

A rare addition to any book collection.
