Pristine copy of a first edition, first printing softcover of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, signed by J.K. Rowling on the dedication page in black pen. The paperback edition of Chamber of Secrets was released almost seven months after the hardback edition, on 28 January 1999, with J.K. Rowling making an appearance at King’s Cross Station, London, to promote the release of the book. A small number of signed copies of the book were available for purchase through Edinburgh bookstores, and Rowling did sign copies during a visit to London—one event being in Wimbledon, where she signed copies of the book in black ballpoint pen.
Comes in a custom-made half-leather clamshell box. Included is a Letter of Authenticity (LoA) from Adam Houston of The Harry Potter Specialist, the world’s sole expert on J.K. Rowling’s signature, as well as an interesting collector’s card. Authentic signed copies of this first paperback edition are scarce to find in commerce, and copies in pristine unread condition such as this one, with bright colors, a sharp spine and corner tips, and bright pages, are extremely hard to find.
