Fine copy of the first edition, early 7 th UK Bloomsbury printing of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, with a number line of 10 9 8 7. It does not yet have the Hogwarts shield on the title pages, which was used in all subsequent printings. Fine pictorial boards with sharp spine ends and corners. The binding is tight, and the endpapers are clean with no marks, inscriptions, or stamps. Very bright Pages without the usual browning to the edges. The book appears unread.
The unclipped first state dust jacket is in a near fine condition without wear and only very minor fading towards the spine. Now protected by a Brodart removable archival book cover. A very nice early copy of the second Harry Potter book.
