Scarce First Dutch Translation. First Printing 1960. Translation by Max Schuchart.  Third translation of The Hobbit, after Sweden (1947) and Germany (1957). The translation is based on the 7th printing of The Hobbit, published by Allen & Unwin in 1955. The book has the two maps by Tolkien, “Thrors kaart” (Thror's Map) on pp. [6-7] and “Wilderland” on pp. [8-9], with calligraphed names of places translated into Dutch. See Hammond, Section G, Page 391.

Very minor wear on upper spine end. No names or inscriptions. Firm binding with pages browned with age as usual. An excellent copy of this delicate book.
