Rowling in black ink on the half-title page on 9 December 2000 at the City Hall, Candleriggs, Glasgow, during an exclusive Christmas reading and signing event held in aid of Maggie's Cancer Centre. The original event ticket and a handwritten note by the previous owner documenting the occasion are included.

The Deluxe edition of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire was published on 2 October 2000 in a print run of 10,000 copies (see Errington, p. 261). Its publication followed the release of the British trade edition on 8 July 2000 and came after both Rowling's nationwide signing tour by steam train and her appearances at the Edinburgh International Book Festival in August 2000. As a result, relatively few copies of the Deluxe edition were signed during their year of publication, making such examples particularly scarce.

The Glasgow charity event of 9 December 2000 was the only known public signing held in the United Kingdom after the publication of the Deluxe edition that year. Even on this occasion, Rowling signed almost exclusively copies of the standard children's edition brought by attendees. Consequently, Deluxe copies bearing signatures from their year of publication are exceptionally scarce, making this an especially desirable example for collectors.

A fine, unread copy. The boards remain fresh, the gilt edges are well preserved, showing hardly any signs of handling, and the binding is firm. The endpapers are clean and free from names, inscriptions, or other markings. The book is protected by a removable Brodart archival cover.

Housed in a custom-made half-leather clamshell box, providing both elegant presentation and long-term archival protection. The signature has been fully authenticated by Adam Houston of TheHarryPotterSpecialist. A Letter of Authenticity (LoA) is included.

https://www.wintersrarebooks.com/products/harry-potter-and-the-goblet-of-fire-deluxe-first-edition-signed-in-the-year-of-publication
